Yeah, I totally just made up the name for that critter...
Well, this is number 61 in the 100 theme challenge; Fairy Tale. So I tried to make it look like a book cover for my little "Dragon-Jay".

This is what happens when I actually try to do something quickly with a pencil; much neater than all those Blacke Letter/Chase drawings for the 100TC so far, eh?

It took me one hour and about 30 minutes, I believe, and it's much darker in real life...

Oh, and by the way, the Dracchenjay is now named Fletch, thanks to :iconentertheplayers:!

Yay! Thank you! That is actually my old style really ^^; This one I don't plan on coloring, so I shade it all loverly-like! ^^ The pen ones that I'm currently doing have so little depth because I hope/plan to color them and neat crisp outlines are easier to work with than trying to color a fully shaded... thing...

Heh, this reminds me of the bird you doodled. :D

Anyway, I really like this. Lovely shading. :) I love how the bird seems to have a personality. I find it hard to put personality in birds and other such creatures. I have a gryphon character that took me weeks just to get his expressions right.

Oh, and the wings are kick-ass. I love how they're feathered dragon wings. It's like Xyrrus, but much better. ^^

Heh, yeah, I was kinda trying to get a bigger cooler version of that little doodle bird actually; the dragon wings were just a last-stitch thing ^^;
And thank you! I didn't really mean to give him much of a personality, as I'll probably never draw him again, but oh well ^^
